Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, September 16th, by visiting the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in Dehradun. During the ceremony, CM Dhami cut a cake with the children and spent time with them. The children sang a birthday song for CM Dhami, which CM Dhami appeared emotional. Afterward, CM Dhami interacted with the children and spent time with them. The children were also excited and happy to have the Chief Minister among them. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami said that spending time with children gives life new energy and inspiration. Every child has immense talent and potential. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done a lot of work and made plans to advance the children of NIBH. Congress Workers March to CM Residence in Dehradun Amid Heavy Rain…
Congress workers marched to the CM’s residence in protest against purification drive in Haldwani on September 7th, amid heavy rain. A large number of Congress leaders and workers joined the march to the CM’s residence. Police erected barricades near Hathibarkala to stop the protesters. A scuffle broke out between Congress leaders and police. During the siege of the CM’s residence, in the presence of Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Selja and other senior leaders, several people joined the Congress party. CM Dhami to arrive in Nainital on a one-day visit, lay foundation stone for Sports University
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will arrive in Nainital on Saturday, August 29th, for a day-long visit. The district administration has released the schedule for the Chief Minister’s visit. According to the schedule, CM Dhami will depart for Haldwani Gaulapar via helicopter from the DPS School grounds in Rudrapur in the morning and arrive at the Gaulapar Stadium helipad at 12 noon. The Chief Minister will then depart by car for the Uttarakhand State Sports University. Five minutes later, he will arrive at the university campus to attend the ceremony. He will also participate in the groundbreaking ceremony and foundation stone laying ceremony of the Uttarakhand State Sports University, as well as the National Sports Day ceremony, and will depart from the Sports University for ITDC Fortune in Haldwani at 2 pm. CM Dhami lay foundation stone for Sports University During this visit, the Chief Minister will interact with people from the industry and business world. The Chief Minister will then arrive in the ITDC Fortuner near the District Cooperative Bank in Anand Bagh and participate in the program held there. The sports university, being built in Haldwani’s Gaulapar, will benefit the state’s athletes. A grand ceremony will be held at the International Stadium in Gaulapar for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the sports university, for which preparations have already been completed. Additionally, 94 posts, including the Vice Chancellor, have been approved for the sports university.
Dhami Approves Financial Sanctions Worth Around ₹135 Crore for Development and Welfare Projects
Dhami Approves Financial Sanctions: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions of around ₹135 crore for a range of development, education, infrastructure and welfare-related works across the state. The approvals cover projects aimed at strengthening public infrastructure, supporting education and improving administrative facilities. A major allocation of ₹84.89 crore has been approved as the second instalment for the 2025-26 financial year under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The amount will be used to reimburse tuition fees for eligible students studying in private schools under the RTE provisions. Officials have been directed to ensure timely and transparent utilisation of the funds. Several smaller infrastructure and development works have also received financial approval. These include funds for completing the Mountain Development Building in Sitarganj, construction of a shed at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Khatima and other district-level projects. The government has also sanctioned funds for heritage conservation and beautification works, including projects at temples and historic buildings in different parts of the state. In addition, financial assistance has been approved for strengthening administrative and security institutions, including the Uttarakhand Academy of Administration, Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, police establishments and the Home Guards Department. As part of the approvals, the state government has also decided to name the Moln-Khandah-Bhintai motor road in Pauri Garhwal after martyr Kamala Singh Negi, honouring his contribution and sacrifice. The latest sanctions are aimed at accelerating development works, strengthening public services and supporting education and welfare initiatives across Uttarakhand.

On Tuesday, July 21st, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with female boxers at the Chief Minister’s residence. The Chief Minister honored Pithoragarh boxers Nikita Chand, Kajal Farswan, and Aarti Dhariyal for their achievements. He also honored the players’ coaches, Vijendra Mal and Lalit Kumar, and wished them a bright future. At the recent Under-30 Asian Boxing Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia from July 3rd to 15th, Uttarakhand’s promising boxers, Nikita Chand, won a silver medal in the 60 kg weight category, and Kajal Farswan won a silver medal in the 65 kg weight category. Both athletes have brought glory to Uttarakhand and India internationally through their talent and hard work. Nikita Chand, a resident of Badlu village in Pithoragarh, previously won gold medals at the 2021-22 and 2023 Asian Championships. She is currently training under the guidance of her coaches, Vijendra Mal and Bhaskar Bhatt. Kajal Farswan, a resident of Bhadeli village in Munsyari, has also achieved success in boxing. She trained under coach Nikhil Mahar at the Small India Centre and was selected for the NBA, Rohtak. She is currently training at the National Women’s Boxing Camp in Patiala. She has previously won a silver medal at the Under-19 ASBC Championship, a bronze medal at the Under-23 Asian Boxing Championship, and a silver medal at the 38th National Games in 2025. Another talented female boxer from Pithoragarh, Aarti Dhariwal, has brought glory to the country and the state by winning a gold medal in the 54 kg weight category at the Gold Belt Boxing Competition held in Romania from July 12 to 16, 2026. She also won a bronze medal at the Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship in 2024-2025. Based on her continued success, she has also been selected for the National Women’s Boxing Camp in Patiala, where she is currently training. Dhami Government Temporarily Suspends Tree Cutting for Bhaniawala-Rishikesh Four/Six-Lane Project After Public Outcry
Significant news is emerging regarding the cutting of 3,000 trees for road widening between Bhaniawala and Rishikesh in Dehradun. The Dhami government has temporarily halted the cutting of 3,000 trees after discussions with the central government. The state government states that the cutting of trees for this project will remain suspended until a satisfactory consensus and trust is established with all stakeholders. Numerous citizens, environmentalists, and local residents have been protesting for the past few days regarding the Dehradun-Rishikesh four-lane/six-lane project, resulting in the government temporarily halting tree cutting. The state government maintains that development is essential, but no decision will be made without regard to public sentiment, the environment, and local interests. To this end, the Principal Secretary and relevant officials have been instructed to re-establish detailed dialogue with all stakeholders, local citizens, public representatives, and experts. Further action will be taken in full respect of the High Court’s directives and decision. Additionally, tree felling under this project will be suspended until a satisfactory consensus and trust is reached with all stakeholders. Last Friday, after his visit to Dehradun for the “Chhatraon Ki Goonj” program, Rahul Gandhi went directly to the protest site, where he met with those protesting the tree felling. BJP National President Nitin Naveen Arrives in Uttarakhand for Three-Day Visit..
Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Naveen has arrived in Uttarakhand for a three-day visit. Last Thursday, Naveen arrived at Jolly Grant Airport at 5 p.m., where he was received by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In anticipation of his visit, banners, flags, and hoardings were erected on the roads from Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport to the BJP headquarters. Workers in traditional attire welcomed him at more than 25 locations from the airport to the BJP state office. Welcome events were also held every 1 kilometer.
