“Kargil Vijay Diwas” is celebrated every year on July 26th to pay tribute and honor to the soldiers martyred in the Kargil War. This year, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is celebrating Kargil Vijay Diwas on a grand scale over two days, July 25th and 26th. Dhami reportedly organized the “Run for Kargil Heroes” marathon at the Shaurya Sthal, Cheedbagh, Gadi Cantt, Dehradun. Tribute paid to martyrs at the Shaurya Sthal Chief Minister Dhami participated in a two-day program on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 25th. He paid tribute to the martyrs at the Shaurya Sthal and honored their supreme sacrifice for the nation. He then flagged off the “Run for Kargil Heroes” marathon, which generated significant enthusiasm among the people. On the second day of the program, July 26th, he will participate in a program being held at Gandhi Park in Dehradun, where the families of martyrs, brave mothers, and brave women will be honored. Continuous work for the welfare of dependents On this occasion, CM Dhami said that Kargil Vijay Diwas symbolizes the indomitable courage, valor, bravery, and unwavering dedication of the Indian Army. In 1999, brave Indian soldiers displayed valor under adverse circumstances, defending the motherland, demonstrating the courage of the Indian Army to the world. He said that the country will always be indebted to its brave soldiers and the sacrifices of the martyrs. Addressing Uttarakhand, he said that Uttarakhand is known as the land of heroes. Many brave soldiers of the state have brought glory to the country with their unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice in various military operations including the Kargil war. Besides, the state government is continuously working for the welfare of soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents and is striving with full commitment to protect their honour and interests. He appealed to the youth to take inspiration from the ideals of the martyrs and contribute actively in nation building and discharge their responsibilities towards the unity, integrity and security of the country with devotion.
