CJP vows nationwide protest at Jantar Mantar if CEC Gyanesh Kumar doesn’t resign by October 10...

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has announced a massive protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 10, 2026, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. The Cockroach Janata Party has announced that if Gyanesh Kumar does not resign from his post, people from across the country will gather in Delhi and protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. The CJP made this announcement during a protest held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on October 2, 2026 (Friday, Gandhi Jayanti). CJP founder and convener Abhijeet Dipke stated that if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign by October 10, people from different parts of the country will travel to Delhi. He stated that if the Delhi Police prevents protesters from reaching Jantar Mantar, the protest will continue from the location where they are stopped. The organization described it as a peaceful protest. This protest is being held against alleged irregularities in the voter list and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive, which has reportedly resulted in the removal of millions of voters from the rolls. The organization has described this movement as completely peaceful and following the path of non-violence espoused by Mahatma Gandhi. They have also clarified that if the Delhi Police prevents the protesters from proceeding to Jantar Mantar, they will continue their protest by sitting wherever they are stopped. Previously, opposition parties (India Block) and various student organizations (such as AISA and SFI) have also held protests in Delhi and submitted a formal notice to Parliament demanding the removal of the CEC. The CJP also recently held a protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai demanding the same. According to the CJP, a large number of people participated in the protest at Shivaji Park. The protesters questioned issues related to the electoral process and the voter list and demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. The organization says that the Mumbai protest is an important step toward advancing the ongoing civil rights movement across the country. Preparations are now underway to extend this movement to Delhi. Abhijeet Dipke stated that the protest will be non-violent and will be conducted peacefully, drawing inspiration from the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi. He appealed to the government and Delhi Police to respect the right to peaceful protest. He also referred to the alleged police use of force on July 20th and stated that he does not want any violence in the upcoming protest.
